Siemens Energy recently launched its new 6-megawatt direct drive wind turbine at the European Offshore Wind Energy Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The new SWT-6.0 will be available with rotor diameters of 120 and 154 meters and is designed for the most challenging offshore sites.

A trial program meant to speed the pace of innovation in green technology hasn't unleashed the torrent of activity as hoped. Launched in December, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Green Technology Pilot Program puts patent petitions related to environmental technologies at the front of the line for appraisal. The goal is to encourage economic activity in the sector. Read more....
