The Center for Environmental Innovation and Leadership's featured podcast this week is an interview with the DoD's Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Sustainable / LEED program manager, Crystall Merlino. Ms. Merlino discusses WHS' building renovation programs for the Pentagon and National Capital Region, which will improve environmental sustainability and meet the mandates of Executive Order 13514. EO 13514, issued by President Obama in November, requires federal agencies to reduce energy use, conserve resources and make all operations, processes and facilities more green.
